As always, all the best adventures come to an end. This does not mean that you can open up new avenues, new opportunities and new experiences, but I think that every time you engage in projects or start the work, it is right to get to a point and make budget of the experience. I refer to the course of photographic technique II at the International School of Photography in Milan (SHAPE) concluded this week with the classic pizza and greetings good intentions.
First thought: I discovered and enjoyed new friends and new artists, to talk and exchange views "of a certain level, which is always a treasure!
Second thought: there are more and more detached from the technical aspects of photography and photographic tool to approach the expressive and artistic side of our work! And why now is increasing fear and the block in front of a subject to photograph!
grow .. how wonderful!
Third reflection: to my great surprise, for the first time a "class" I recognized the role of secretary (who takes notes and always remember the names!) .. but, who knows me, knows that nothing is further from the truth for a messy and confusing engineer like me!
Given the task, then, I have undertaken to transcribe a small part of the authors and masters of photography that Emilio has made known, on which we both thought, and whose works have criticized and imitated. Valuable and essential lessons on portraits, landscapes, architecture, reportage and artistic abstractions.
no particular logical order, or importance, we begin obviously Emilio Resmini (our impeccable professor), Cecil Beaton , Annie Leibovitz, Helmut Newton , August Sander, Minor White , Man Ray, Andre Kertesz , Rodney Smith , Robert Frank, Dorothea Lange , Ghirri Luigi, Mario Giacomelli , Giovanni Chiaramonte , Gabriele Basilico , Henry Cartier-Bresson, Richard Avedon , Ansel Adams, Terry Evans , Caramel Hello, Ivo Sagle , Marco Pesaresi etc.. etc..
wow ..
many subjects, so many ideas, how much diversity of expression ..
To conclude, then, I leave you my interpretation of the essence of the course (the photo that opens the post) because it is right in our continued Geraci, walk to new techniques, new photographs, new artists and new art .. and all this can only be done with the machine around his neck and experiencing our wonderful ideas!
